Message from the President

Dear Sister Dames,

Thank you to all of you who submitted nominees for membership to our chapter. Barbara Black has graciously offered to open her home for our new member reception on March 10th.

I am sure each of you remembers how excited you felt to be nominated to Dames. Indeed, it is an esteemed honor. It is extremely important that new members feel welcome and that they become engaged in our chapter activities from the start. Please come and share what you value from your membership in Dames with our nominees. In advance, a big thank you to Barbara for hosting us all.

Now is the time to present your nominations to fill open board of directors' positions. In 2016, our chapter will host our Women in Gastronomy symposium in the spring and the annual Les Dames d'Escoffier International conference that autumn. The 2015-16 board will be very active in planning both events. Additionally, our board is active in reviewing and planning all critical events and the overall direction of our chapter.

I have found my time on the board to be  personally and professionally rewarding. I have had the opportunity to learn from and work with many of our talented members. It has been a lot of fun. So, if you are ready to expand your involvement with our chapter and would either like to take a leadership role or believe one of your sister Dames is well-positioned to make a positive difference in our chapter's operations during this important year, please put your or her name forward.

I hope you are all surviving this cold winter weather. Our February 21st Tea and Chocolate event did not fare so well and had to be postponed. The new date is March 28th. So you have a second opportunity to attend! Details for registration are below.

Warmly,

Drew Faulkner

President
