Message from the President

Dear Sister Dames,

I am excited to announce that we have hired an administrative assistant, Robin Kurtzman. Robin will report to our corresponding secretary, Stacey Adams. Her primary duties will be to aid Stacey in maintaining our website and of correspondence to members and the public. We anticipate that all members will soon be enjoying the benefits of having Robin onboard. Welcome Robin!

I sent a letter you last week; but, in case you missed that email, I want to let you know that the Women in the Arts of Escoffier Gala has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set. Membership will be informed as the planning progresses and a new date is set. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the development of this fundraising event to date.

Our chapter has joined the Brock Circle! After much thoughtful discussion and review of the emails from members on the subject, the board voted to make a one-time $10,000 payment from our reserve funds rather than make annual $1,000 payments over 10 years. The LDEI board has committed to use Brock Circle funds to help build the brand of LDEI and to enhance the annual conference. As the LDEI brand builds so does that of our chapter. Stronger brand recognition will aid our member recruitment and fundraising efforts. The board believes that this is a positive investment for our chapter.

New member recruitment is on. Please submit your nominations to Theresa Morrison by the end of the week. Soon we will ask you to nominate yourself or another member for our important open board officer and director positions. Have you considered stepping up your involvement in our chapter? This could be your opportunity!

By the time you read this, I will have attended, with many of you, our program Food: Our Global Kitchen at the National Geographic Museum. This tour was very popular and sold out quickly! Thanks so much to Joan Bacharach for organizing it for us.

We have a number of exciting programs and networking opportunities coming up. Registration information is below. Do take the time to read about them, register, and get them on your calendar. I look forward to seeing you there.

Warmly,

Drew Faulkner

President

Editor's Note

ENTRE NEWS is published on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Deadline for HURRAH! and other news is the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Please send a BRIEF paragraph with your professional and personal news that you would like your sister Dames to know about in HURRAH!

HURRAH! is not meant as an advertising opportunity for a cooking class or event, rather it offers a shout out to members for recent accomplishments and honors.

OF INTEREST offers Dames a chance to let their sister chapter members know about events they are involved in that might be of interest to a majority of the membership. OF INTEREST entries can be NO LONGER than 75 words. Less is always better.

JOB OPPS can open Dames networks to employment opportunities.
