Les Dames d'Escoffier, Washington, D.C. Regional Chapter
Les Dames d'Escoffier Washington, D.C. Regional Chapter is a vibrant and diverse group of women leaders in food, beverage, and hospitality. Our mission is to support, inspire, and empower women in the industry and to advance community-based food initiatives. We accomplish this through scholarships, grants, mentorship, and educational programming.
As the saying goes, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ so here’s a multi-digit spread that tells the story of our June 11 fundraiser at the historic Whittemore House. At this wonderful community gathering, our chapter welcomed more than 140 guests to sample an impressive array of food and beverages from participating Dames. Gross revenue totaled nearly $33,000.
Author and culinary historian Grace Young was honored for her contributions to preserving culinary traditions and documenting food culture; Janet Cam introduced Grace and presented her with a commemorative gift from our chapter. While Ambassador of Culinary Traditions Pati Jinich was unable to attend due to filming commitments in Mexico, her message was warmly shared by Lizette Corro. Pati's remarks celebrated the impact of Les Dames' grantmaking efforts and the organizations whose work is transforming lives throughout our region.

Your Donations Help
A key component of our organization is the giving of scholarships and grants. Our scholarship program has subsidized dozens of women through the years by helping fund their culinary education. Our grants provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in our community that promote health, sustainable food practices, and culinary training specifically geared to women and children.
